Grants:

"Impacts of Global Climate Change on Soil Bacterial Communities and Functional Biodiversity in Pine Plantations.", Australian Research Council, , 2006 - 2008

Description:

Questions addressed:

How does an increase in atmospheric CO2-levels influence pnat growth and diversity, soil fertility and species abundance in soil microbial communities in a pine plantation?

Protocol

Samples will be taken at two depths (0-10cm and 10-20 cm) in all the plots (ambient and enriched CO2-levels) in fertilized and unfertilized portions in July 2006.
Sampling will be performed with a soil auger (7 cm diameter), samples will be frozen and sent to Brisbane. Laboratory work will be carried out at griffith University, Brisbane.

Sample size: 1 bulk sample + 2 rhizosphere samples of each portion.

Status:
