Description:

Specific goals of this study will be to investigate: 1) the impact of elevated CO2, and presumed altered soil C substrate (quantity and/or quality of root exudates, above- and belowground litter), on microbial community structure and metabolism; and, in conjunction with other investigators at the site, 2) how this ultimately can affect soil C and N cycling in this pine forest ecosystem.
